Recess Week
Friday, March 6, 2015
wasn't expecting this recess week to be so packed.
but the last thing that i'm actually completing is school work.
Wednesday
managed to churn out the case studies in the afternoon. productivity at best since the holiday started.
met up with the girls afterwards for our first drive-out by our chauffeur jl.
headed down to The Grandstand @ The Turf.
original plan was to dine at Pasarbella. only to realise that the place was more like a relatively huge european looking market selling stuff that ranges from fruits to soaps. most of the food stores were bars otherwise cafe or meat dishes. kinda resembles Marche but with lesser variety of food. Pasarbella seems more suited for after-meal gatherings like desserts or alcohol.
since everyone was starving, we really needed a proper meal. decided on Scrumptious. a really cosy cafe. the balcony seats were really pretty with the sun setting behind.
ordered the carbonara, dory and cajun chicken. the food was surprisingly good or maybe we were too hungry then. the pasta was thick but not creamy to the extent that you'll get sick after few bites. but we requested for extra cheese since we felt like it was missing some salt/cheese.
dinner never ends off without desserts when i'm with them. went to Latte e Miele, a italian icecream restaurant. not that it taste anything "italian", not that i could tell. though the taste does differ slightly even though it was a common flavor. we ordered sea salt caramel, chocolate and cookies&cream. would recommend sea salt caramel and chocolate over the cookies&cream. not that it was bad, but it wasn't the usual taste that i like elsewhere. the chocolate in the lava cake doesn't really gush out like some does. taste wise it was really similar to the one we had in bintan lagoon resort few days ago. lol. finally not forgetting a group shot. missing sm. Thursday booked an appointment with Ginza-Calla to try out its IPL package. since the timing was in the middle of the day. was too lazy to do any work in the morning.
went for the free consultation and signed up the $78 unlimited package for underarms + bikini line + hands&fingers. not like i've much hair on my hands&fingers but since it was included in the package why not. #typicalsingaporean
wasn't expecting the first session to be right after consultation. lol. kinda mentally unprepared there. turns out the therapist was really friendly with zero hard selling at all. but because she didn't attempted to sell anything, i totally forgot about asking her regarding other packages and prices for other body parts.
the reason why i've decided on Ginza-Calla after contemplating against Musee and Regina was the price and the reviews. apparently reviews were really postive considering the place was relatively new with only one outlet at plaza sing. and Ginza-Calla has this special after-treatment care where they would use a high pressure mist blast that contains a moisturizing lotion "Bihada-Junbi" to spray on the treated area to ensure the skin will remain moisturized and supple.
the blast was so strong i don't even feel anything on my skin. lol. the treatment wasn't really painful thank goodness. quite true when people compare it with ant bites but it's really less painful than ant bites. it's just the same feeling as when you pluck a single strand of hair out from your arm/underarm.
result wise it will probably take quite some time to have any visible results since treatment is every two months. but so far, i'm glad i've decided on Ginza-Calla.
done with the treatment in half an hour time and went over to somerset.
wanted to check out harvey norman at the centerpoint. but for some reason, i probably took the wrong escalator up and i stumbled into a gigantic household appliances Metro store.
bought the iona hand mixer at $26. cheap cheap. since i doubt i will be using it veerrrryyy frequently. but since i've bought it, gotta start on my baking journey soon and this sat it shall be.
report discussion with zhao tomorrow. hopefully we will get it done by tmr. i have so much stuff to do but it's already friday. noooo.
