was greeted by the very friendly receptionist and was pleasantly surprised that since August is the official oral health month, my $30 consultation fee will be waived off. weee. lucky shit. just for your info. you can head over to this website to check out the list of dental clinics offering free consultation/examination services around you. first impression of the place. everyone seems to be on close terms with each other, the dentists and nurses. once you walk in the room, you will see an iMac screen attached to the dental chair. very high tech. and the dentist started playing music from the imac while starting the consultation. Consultation ~$30 basically, the dentist will take a few digital images of your teeth using a dslr and show you the images on the imac. you will get a clearer picture of how your teeth looks like. if you are someone who don't usually look into the mirror and check your teeth out, that should be pretty entertaining for you. everything seems fine. no sign of wisdom tooth yet. a lil swelling which the dentist recommended me for xray anytime but i shall consider it next time. so i just requested for polishing & scaling. Polishing & Scaling ~ $80 i'm still awed by the imac. the dentist asked if i would like to have music or movies to be played. the dentist even had to request the nurse to download angry birds movie (there's such a thing?) cause the lil kid before me wanted to watch it but they didn't have it on the imac. really smart way to keep lil children entertained and make the whole dental process less scary. the whole polishing and scaling took less than 20minutes. wasn't painful at all. quite surprising. since in my memory sometimes it actually pricks a lil. the only not so good part was that people seems to come in and out of the room pretty often. i'm not sure who or what since i was lying down facing the imac most of the time. just that it gets the dentist and nurse pretty distracted where they will be looking elsewhere with all the tools in my mouth. at a point in time, the dentist was even talking to someone outside while looking away but her hands were still moving in my mouth. so scared that she might just accidentally poke the wrong part without looking. total bill came out to be $88. not cheap. but i guess once in a while is fine? my next session will probably be at least another year down the road.
