Tokyo Day 1
Thursday, January 8, 2015

so while i'm still in my holiday mood, shall quickly draft out the Tokyo trip posts before i get sick of it which i highly suspect it will happen when i get to day 3 or so.

it will be more like a record of what happened, so don't expect detailed post on addresses and stuff. i'm too lazy to google all the specific details but at least i will leave you a photo or name the least. :D

Day 1

my camera died on the second day so there were only some photos in it that i've forgetten to include into the fb album. seems kinda weird if i'm gonna add it in now.

so the four of us met up at Changi. as usual, my family came to send us off. but end up we forgot to take a group shot of the four of us before departure. oops.

the boy redeemed a minnie mouse for his sister and had to carry it for the entire trip hahaha. end up i was holding it most of the time cause he find it too gay. and off we go~

took JAL. with awesome seats, shows, food and service. :) but dumb me forgot to take off the lid for the food before taking a photo. my mind was probably in a state of daze then. regardless how good the seat is, i still couldn't get much sleep. and midnight flight didn't help much either. anyway, they offer plum wine too! and it taste pretty much like the one i had at home, not like the one at Standing Sushi Bar. misses~

and this is by far one of my favourite photos of the trip. so we arrived quite punctually at Haneda Airport.

i told you we were shagged. haha.

ghibli tickets were sold out. sad us. so we just get the suica card, pretty much the same as pasmo, it works like our ezlink card for the trains.

we stayed at Hotel Yanagibashi just a short 5min walk away from JR Asakusabashi station or 2min walk from Toei Asakusabashi station exit A1.
the room may be a little small but it's damn fucking clean. sorry i just had to use the "f" word cause it was so darn awesome. the service, the cleanliness, the location, the necessities provided. you pretty much have everything in that small space.

so we walked out for our first meal in Japan and we stumbled upon this shop right outside our hotel and gave it a shot...and it became a scar in their memories. LOL.

the guys all ordered the curry set for their first "authentic japanese curry". turns out they got scammed by the photo. there was pretty much no meat inside the curry. it was more like some soup. and considering our last meal was on flight at god knows what timing, everyone was starving at that point. so when the guys saw their curry, they were like "are they gonna give us a seperate bowl of meat later on". but sadly the extra bowl of meat never came. lol.

and my meal just added on to their misery. for just an additional $1 more, i ordered the chicken katsu set. no curry but tons of chicken. and they were like wtf. LOL. what a great start to our first meal in Tokyo.

went to Akihabara right after. little did we know, we will be stopping by this station almost everyday for the upcoming 13days since it's just one stop away. so we spent the day exploring Akihabara and trying out the UFO Catcher machine. it isn't easy but quite systematic and definitely possible to catch compared to the ones in Singapore.

had gyudon for dinner. gyudon are like dirt cheap in Tokyo, prices start from as low as $3 onwards. beef slices are like the cheapest food you can find there. even an apple cost 2bucks. i lost track the number of times we had gyudon for a meal.

more recce around Akihabara before heading back to hotel for a good rest since the next day is an entire day trip to Kamakura.

day 2 next time!
