a continuation of Tokyo getaway. you can read Day 1 over here.

Day 2 (Part 1)

spent the entire day at Kamakura for a pilgrimage trip. this is a very long post so i will be splitting it into two parts.

tried out various food along the street. beef and taro croquette, sakura dango, senbei with nori. everything taste good in japan honestly~

the first place we visited was Tsurugaoka Hachimangu. a shinto shrine within walking distance from Kamakura station. followed a certain procedure to cleanse our hands at the side before entering to the main area.

and we took our first omikuji (fortune slips). mine was a sad 凶 so i had to tie it up on the wires above. it's said that by tying the paper there, bad fortune will be averted. while the boy gotten his 大吉 and everything really went awesomely well for him. :D

pretty autumn leaves spotted along the pathway. the weather was really good and it wasn't too cold that day. we were blessed.

next stop was Kenchoji Temple. we pretty much just walked down a straight path from Kamakura towards Kita-Kamakura.

we randomly stumbled upon a hiking trail and followed it. didn't realise we will be climbing all the way up to the hills.

we reached the peak of the hill and there was a viewing platform to see mt fuji. wow it was like an unexpected reward for climbing the trail. we weren't expecting to see mt fuji during a trip down Kamakura at all. and the weather was so clear that day that we actually had a good view of the icy snow caps.

bought a bunch of charms for my family. while the guys bought their "money sucking" charm. haha.

that's all for now.
part 2 coming up next time!
